“The pace was fast for a Friday but the most important thing is my feeling on board the Aprilia. In the afternoon we tried a new rear shock and I felt really comfortable. This circuit has two very different sections – one that is really fast and another that is really slow. It is important that we were quick through both of them, especially for the end of the race, with such a demanding T3 and T4. When I get a good feeling at this circuit I really enjoy myself and I like riding here. If it rains tomorrow we’ve got a good result in the bank and if it doesn’t we’ll use it to refine certain aspects of the bike. The set-up is really good but there is always room for improvement.”

17th Héctor Faubel, 1.33.954 (21 laps)
“We came here on the back of a good result at Montmeló but today was tough. We haven’t found the right way forward so tomorrow we’ll have to make a bunch of changes to the geometry of the bike and see if I feel more comfortable on my Aprilia. I’m finding it very hard to turn through the direction changes, the bike feels heavy and I’m losing time. We’re studying a variety of possibilities but for tomorrow we’ll shorten the bike so that it changes line easier. Everything is different on a 250, so for tomorrow we just have to focus on doing a better job.”
