Australian GP – Phillip Island – 250cc results QP1

Mapfre Aspar rider Alvaro Bautista had an exceptional start to the race weekend with a third position finish in the dry morning practice and finally a dominant provisional pole in wet qualifying conditions. Alvaro was the only rider capable of completing a lap in under 1’44 min.
Fellow teammate Hector Faubel had a few problems with his bike during qualifying, but still managed a provisional 12th position.
