Nieto and Debon injured at Indianapolis Grand Prix

 In Moto2, News

There was big misfortune for Spanish riders Alex Debon and Fonsi Nieto at last weekend’s US Grand Prix in Indianapolis.
Fonsi Nieto had a heavy crash in the qualifying session on Saturday, requiring medical attention at the track with the doctors soon finding out that he had shattered his left heel and ankle. He’s already undergone surgery on Sunday for the complicated fractures, but he will be out of racing for some time, missing at least the Misano GP this weekend and probably a couple more races, depending on his recovery process.

Alex Debon was sent flying off his bike in the second part of the Moto2 race after Vladimir Ivanov ran into his back wheel. Debon immediately held his right shoulder after the crash and it turned out that he had broken his collarbone. It is not yet clear if he can participate in the Misano GP this weekend.

We wish both riders a speedy recovery and hope to see them back on track soon.
