The MAPFRE Aspar Team will incorporate in its ranks next weekend the Valencian rider Elena Rosell. It’ll be the first time that the all-Valencian team fields a woman since its founding in the 1992 season.

Elena Rosell, formed in the Cuna Campeones Bancaja, will join the list of women who have competed in the World Championship of Motorcycling , like German Katja Poensgen, Nikoletta Kovacs of Hungary and Czech rider Marketa Janakova. Elena is the best female Spanish rider at the moment, and in her resume is already a victory at the Circuit de Albacete (2009) in the CEV Kawasaki Ninja Cup. She currently competes in the category also Extreme Stock category of the CEV where she’s fourth overall after two races.

Elena Rosell: “I still can not believe the opportunity I have ahead of me. Throughout this week we had the possibility tot participate in a race with the MAPFRE Aspar Team and to be honest I have lived through these moments very nervously. It is an opportunity I have been waiting for since I started racing motorcycles, thank you so much for the trust the MAPFRE Aspar Team has placed in me. I will debut in the Moto2 world championship with one of the best teams, which is really an indescribable feeling, I can’t wait for to the Dutch Grand Prix to start to believe it.”

Jorge Martinez ‘Aspar’: “We are delighted that Elena is going to participate in the Moto2 World Championship with the Mapfre Aspar Team. It is a double satisfaction because Elena Rosell also comes from the Cuna Campeones Bancaja. I followed her career from the start and she really has surprised me a lot. She has a tremendous capacity for evolution, she is still in the development period as a rider, but I think she can grow a lot in the Moto2 world championship. I wish her well and hope that she adapts quickly to the new category and can enjoy this experience.”
