New Moto3 rider Isaac Viñales is back in good spirits after suffering a fracture at the bottom of the fibula in his right leg when he crashed on the first day of testing in Valencia one and a half weeks ago. Unfortunately the injury means that Isaac has so far gotten almost no time on his new bike and will have to wait a while for his next chance.

The CBC Corse rider was successfully operated last week at the USP Dexeus Institute by Dr. Eugenio y Jose María Jimeno, heads of the Unit of the pathology of the foot, who sutured the deltoid ligament and placed a osteosynthesis plate on the fibula. Isaac was already back home last Saturday and felt in very good spirits and very motivated to work even harder and be back on his Moto3 bike quickly. The 18-year-old from Llança is now only focused on his recovery and hoping to return to work as soon as possible.

So far there’s been no expected recovery period announced, but Isaac should likely be in good enough shape for the first race of the season at Qatar in two months’ time and possibly even make a return to the track as early as next month for the final test of the 2012 preseason at Jerez.
