Simon returns to Catalunya in high spirits despite bad memories of last year’s crash

Blusens Avintia Moto2 rider Julián Simón returns to Montmeló this weekend, the track where just one year ago he suffered a serious crash and he had to miss several Grand Prix that season. Despite this, Julián goes to the Circuit de Catalunya highly motivated and with the intention to confirm the progress he showed in the last races. Simón wants to recover the high level which he had in his crash-marred season and return to the places he’s capable of.

Julián Simón: “I’m eager to return to Montmeló. Although the two biggest accidents I had were at this circuit, I also keep very good memories of results like the one from the year when I became 125cc world champion – despite the cluelessness of the last lap – or the Moto2 podium in 2010. It’s a track I like, we race in front of our fans and this motivates me a lot. We’ve had two races where we made positive steps and we’ll surely follow this path. It’d be fantastic to get a good result at home.”
