Elias disappointed not to qualify in top ten
The starting grid for the Czech Republic Grand Prix was finalized today, during this afternoons qualifying session that took place with track and ambient temperatures significantly lower than yesterdays scorching temperatures.
For the Pramac Racing Team and its rider Toni Elias, it was a difficult qualifying session, due to both a lack of feeling with the Ducati machine and a traction issue, especially at some points of the track.
Tomorrow the twenty-minute warm-up should be used at its best to improve his bike and make him able to fight for better positions during the race.
Toni Elias – 13th place in 1’59.120 ’Im pretty disappointed with today. I hoped to go much better, but we weren’t able to be consistent or even to improve on yesterdays time. We worked hard during todays practice sessions, trying different solutions on our Ducati, even if it took quite a lot of time out of our qualifying. Fortunately, in the end, we understood some interesting things, which we hope will help us tomorrow. So Im still optimistic: we can have a solid race and make up some positions.
Marco Rigamonti – Track Engineer Pramac Racing Team We had a lot of things to work on and we lost the opportunity to achieve a good grid position for tomorrows race. But probably we found some interesting possibilities to improve the bike, and we are confident for the race.
