Complicated first day for JHK T-SHIRT LAGLISSE team in Japan

 In Moto3, News

The first day of free practice at the Motegi circuit didn’t go as well as the JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse team had hoped and Efrén Vázquez and Adrián Martín finished far behind the fastest riders.

Efren was trying some new parts on his FTR Honda and therefore was unable to put many laps in. Also the characteristics of the circuit with its hard braking and fast acceleration do not suit him very much.
But tomorrow both he and Adrián Martin will mount a new engine with which they hope to take a step forward.

Despite finishing higher up, Alberto Moncayo, rider for Andalucía JHK T-Shirt LaGLisse, wasn’t very satisfied with the day either. The rider from Cadiz and his team have worked hard to improve the breaking and the corner entry, but couldn’t solve the problem.

Efren Vázquez
We’ve been working with the bike and have been trying a few different things. For us Fridays are always about trying to get the best possible base set up and get a feeling for the bike. Also this circuit has always caused me a few problems, but for tomorrow the expectations are considerably higher and I hope to be able to fight more at the top.

Adrian Martín
Things didn’t go as well as we’d hoped. I went out this morning and felt very strong and confident. In the afternoon I went out on used tyres and we did the race distance to see how we got on. I managed a good time but then we put in the hard rear tyre and I lost the feeling. I stopped to change a few things and after going out I fell. I hope to improve tomorrow and I believe that we can be in the top ten.

It’s been a productive day. This morning we worked well and I felt comfortable from the start. But this afternoon when we started to push a bit more, we started having problems with the clutch and entering into the corners the bike was sliding a lot. If we can solve this problem tomorrow, I believe we can improve a lot. I like the circuit, but I need a bike that’s more stable on the brakes.
