Simon still left with things to improve but “truly satisfied” after Valencia qualifying

 In Moto2, News

Julián Simón completed a good QP in which he remained in the top ten until the very last minutes. One of today’s main focuses was the choice of tyres to be used in tomorrow’s race – if in dry – even if the warm-up can still be used to make the final changes. The qualifying practice was very tight and in the last minutes Simón dropped down to the twelfth position although only four thousandths away from the fourth position. The gap between the rider is incredibly narrow and everything points out that the Blusens Avintia ride can fight for the top five.

60_Julián Simón (12º 1’36.129 +0.938): “It´s been all right. We’ve worked as hard as we could, I rode fast and I am truly satisfied.I still have to improve in the last bend and reduce the rear wheel rebounces to gain speed. We are standing close to the top five and we’ll see which tyres to use tomorrow. I have used the soft ones today, but I think I’ll try the hard ones in the warm-up and then we’ll make up our mind. We are close to the top five and I like to finish the season being a part of it”.
