Isaac Viñales stretches himself to achieve a podium finish for Team Calvo

Today saw a spectacular Moto3 race in Le Mans with eight riders fighting for the top positions on the last lap.

Team Calvo rider Isaac Viñales, who raced all 24 laps in a top five position, was able to push himself into a podium position during his final attack.

This third place signifies Team Calco’s first podium this season and the very first in Viñales’ sporting career, but surely it won’t be the last.

“I’m very, very happy. Most of all about the great work we’ve been doing since the pre-season. We struggled a little in the first few races, in the last one we finished in the top five and now we’re on the podium. This is a massive step and that’s why I’m so happy. It’s been a tough race, and as we already know, in Moto3 with eight riders fighting for the top three positions, anything can happen on the last lap. But I felt really good on the bike, and now we know that we’ve got it in us to be at the sharp end and that’s got to be the most positive outcome.”
