A shadow was cast over the day in Moto2 somewhat, after Tetsuta Nagashima suffered multiple fractures following a crash with Azlan Shah, with FP3 red flagged briefly.

In the afternoon, things got back to normal and the Moto2 riders were able to ride without interruption in QP. Johann Zarco dominated virtually from start to finish.

After Rabat dominated yesterday and this morning Folger took charge, the Frenchman took the pole, with his closest rival three tenths back. Although Zarco led, names like Rabat, Folger, Kallio and Corsi are towards the front and will go in search of podium finishes at Silverstone tomorrow.

Jordi Torres found a good set-up yesterday, despite some rear vibrations, but today new problems appeared for the Spaniard. However the MAPFRE Aspar rider pushed hard to try and get a good time.

On the last lap of QP he recorded a 2’08.495 to qualify 18th.

Jordi Torres 18th, 2’08.495 (18 laps):
“Today I have been a bit puzzled. Yesterday the bike worked great, except the rear and we had full confidence in solving this problem today. We focused our efforts on improving the performance of the rear, but when we improved the bike some further problems arose. Despite this we have kept a fairly steady pace in the qualifying session and this allows us to be optimistic for tomorrow. The warm up will be crucial for us, we will try to find out what happened today and get a balanced setting.”
