Isaac Viñales lines up on the Silverstone Moto3 grid in ninth position for tomorrow’s race.

During the last free practice session this morning, both Isaac Viñales and Calvo squad teammate Jakub Kornfeil were amongst the fastest riders, with the Spaniard second and the Czech fourth.

But in the afternoon the pace picked up considerably and slipstream was key on the long straights of Silverstone circuit. Neither Isaac nor Jakub were lucky enough to find this extra help and in the end they were not able to finish where they and Team Calvo had hoped.

But the most important thing is that they have a good pace for the race and, as always in the Moto3 category, it is to be expected that the 17 laps of tomorrow’s race are going to be very very tightly fought.

“It didn’t go very well, we had hoped to be much closer to the front. But we know that the people in front gained much time by using the slipstream and this certainly makes us a bit calmer. The pace we have allowed us to run in the 2.14s and that’s where everyone is. We’ll start from third row and have to start well, but there will be a big group and you just don’t know who will win this. We improved in the first part of the circuit, I struggled more yesterday, and in the final part I feel very comfortable, I’m the fastest and maybe that’s where the race will be decided. We’ll find out tomorrow.”
