It was a positive qualifying session for Team Calvo, who will start tomorrow’s race from the second row of the grid with Isaac Viñales.

The Spanish rider has gone from strength to strength in a session in which last year’s fastest got beaten by almost two seconds, and everything is so tight that Viñales in sixth place finished just 19 thousandths behind Jack Miller in fifth and 14 thousandths ahead of championship leader Alex Marquez.

Therefore everyone’s expecting a close race in a group in which Isaac hopes to be one of the protagonists.

I’m happy because we achieved the goal we set ourselves, to be in the first two rows of the grid, but the setup of the bike can still be improved in some parts for tomorrow. But most importantly is that with worn tyres we have a great pace and tomorrow we can be with the group. Everything is very close this year and is much faster than last year, because last year it was half dry, half wet. But the good thing about the race is that we have the Hondas behind us and Miller leaves right in front of me.
