Jack Miller took victory in the final Moto3 race of the season at Valencia but third place for Alex Márquez was enough to seal the World Championship at the end of a gripping race.

Miller rode a strategic race at the front, holding up the pace to create a large group, but Márquez stood up to the challenge and held his ground in a combative battle to seal the title by just two points from the Australian.

Juanfran Guevara produced a battling performance of his own to overcome a series of problems and finish in the points. The MAPFRE Aspar youngster almost overheated his clutch on the grid and lost several positions after qualifying tenth, but he was able to find his rhythm and recover ground as the race progressed.

Despite tagging onto the back of the lead group the Spaniard was unable to maintain his pace until the end due to a front tyre issue and he was forced to settle for a single championship point in fifteenth place.

15th Juanfran Guevara:
“Whilst I was waiting for the lights I couldn’t find neutral and the clutch got hot, it was a miracle it didn’t overheat. It was hard to get off the line but I was able to get going and make up some positions to stay in touch with the lead group. Halfway through the race the front started to move around and I lost some pace and positions. At least I was able to finish in the points. I have learnt a lot this year and we have built our experience and pace. 2014 has been an important season of learning for me. Now we have to assess everything, take a look at where we were lacking and prepare well during preseason to be more competitive in 2015”.
