The Páginas Amarillas HP 40 riders, Luis Salom and Alex Rins, have once again completed a very good practice day at the Italian GP that happens this weekend at the Mugello Circuit (Florence).

The riders from Sito Pons’ team have stayed with the top riders during the whole day. At the free practice sessions celebrated in the morning, Luis was fifth and Alex eight. During the afternoon’s session, both Salom and Rins have tried different settings for their bikes that have worked quite well and have allowed them to improve their times, Salom riding four tenths faster and Rins six tenths.

Salom seems to be completely recovered from the cold he has been suffering during the last days, and he arrives to tomorrow’s race, that will last for 21 laps, with the aim of fighting for the podium and strong chances of winning.

His team mate Rins has spent quite a lot of time working on his Kalex’s setting, and seems to have found a good one to start tomorrow from the third row of the grid with the main objective of fighting, like his box mate, for the top positions.

“We’ve taken a step forward from yesterday’s situation, I feel better physically as well because to be honest on thursday’s night I wasn’t feeling too well and had a fever. We’ll see if I feel even better tomorrow, and I think we can go a step further with the bike too, adjusting a few things, because I think we’re doing pretty good this weekend, the bike works pretty good and I’m happy with the job we’ve done together with the team, we’ll see if tomorrow we can be close to the front again”.

9th ALEX RINS 1:52.240
“It was a bit of a complicated qualifying session. I’m struggling a bit in this circuit, it’s the first time we’re riding with the Moto2 and I’m not feeling completely good with the bike, but I think that we can stay with the top guys tomorrow, if we make a good start and stay close to them in a track where drafting is the key”.
