It was a bittersweet Saturday for the Leopard Racing team in Germany, the ninth round of the 2016 World Championship. Danny Kent and Miguel Oliveira were finally greeted with ideal weather conditions and able to get the most out of the Kalex machines, but a rib injury forced the withdrawal from the event of Englishman Kent.

Miguel Oliveira has thus become the standard bearer for the Leopard Racing team in the intermediate class, rolling up his sleeves and focusing to finalise the setting of his Kalex. During the decisive Qualifying session the 21-year old from Portugal was entirely dedicated to the time-attack, taking 16th place with a best time of 1’25.173.

Tomorrow at 09:10 Local Time (GMT +2), the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of warm-up before the lights go out at 12:20 Local Time for the ninth race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.

#44 Miguel OLIVEIRA – 16th (1’25.173):
“It has been a qualification with a lot of traffic and many riders close together. I improved my time and I’m very happy with my pace. We still have to improve in some small aspect, but I hope tomorrow we can achieve a good race.”
