While the Leopard Racing team celebrated their first podium of the year in Moto3 with Andrea Locatelli, Germany produced a difficult weekend for Stefan Kiefer’s team in Moto2. Both Miguel Oliveira and teammate Danny Kent head home without points.

Oliveira had finished Warm Up in the morning with an encouraging 15th place, but was unable to see the chequered flag due to a crash at Turn 8 on the third lap.

A pity for all involved, especially Oliveira, who had made a good start and was fighting for points. Now the team will head to Austria for a two day test at the Red Bull Ring on the 26th and 27th of July, a preview of round ten held in the middle of August.

#44 Miguel Oliveira – DNF:
“A very short race for me. I had a good feeling and I made a good start, but the third lap, when I came into Turn 8, I found a lot of water on the track and I could not avoid the fall. Looking ahead: next week we will go to Austria to test and try to improve.”
