It’s been an uphill road to the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini, the thirteenth round of the 2016 season, for the Moto2 Leopard Racing Team duo. The 4.2 km of the Misano World Circuit saw Miguel Oliveira and teammate Danny Kent work hard on Friday during the free practice sessions.

The Portuguese rider finished both sessions in 19th position, despite managing to shave 0.3s of his own reference lap. Spending a long time on track with the race tyre, Oliveira is already focusing his mind on the next two decisive days.

Saturday will open with the third and final free practice session, anticipating the afternoon show of formal qualifications that will decide the starting grid for the Moto2 Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini 2016.

#44 Miguel OLIVEIRA – 19th (1’39.119):
“It was difficult to enter the Top 10 in Friday, just look at the ranking and you see 15 riders within 1 second. This afternoon we just worked with used tyres. We are trying to find the ideal set-up that allows us to go fast. I have a good feeling.”
