The fourteenth race of the 2017 Moto3 World Championship was held today, at the circuit of Motorland Aragón. Because of a thick fog in the morning, the warm up was delayed and, afterwards, the race was also reduced to 13 laps.
Guevara could finish the warm up with the 12th time, only 1.021 seconds off the fastest. In the race, the Spaniard came back quickly in the first few laps, joining the first group. Juanfran crossed the finishing line in 12th position, as he grabs four points for the General Standings.
#58 Juanfran Guevara: 12th [RACE]
“It was a tough Sunday. In the warm up we had a decent pace and the track temperature was quite good. In the race, which was shortened to thirteen laps, we were starting from the back, yet things worked out well at the beginning. I had a great rhythm and I was in the first group. However, it was difficult to move on and overtake other riders. Everybody was very fast, specially because we had less laps. We could save the day, we got four points which are important for the Championship, mostly after two races that ended in two crashes. Clearly this wasn’t our best GP, but we could also notice that this circuit wasn’t really favourable to the KTM machines. We’ll have to work to try and prevent this from happening again in the flyaway races, we’ll check where we can improve. The positive side is that we finished really close to the winner, only 1.505 seconds behind him. We’ll try to find the tenth that we lose in each lap and we’ll figure out a way to stay in the front group.”
