FIM CEV Repsol back in action for Round 2 at Valencia

 In JuniorGP, News

This weekend the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo hosts the second round of the FIM CEV Repsol, with Manuel Pagliani (Leopard Junior) leader of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Jesko Raffin (Swiss Innovative Investors Junior) heading the Moto2™ European Championship, Ivo Lopes (ENI-Motor7-Small Motorcycles) the man to beat in Superstock 600 and Julián Giral (Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0.0) the top rider in the European Talent Cup.

In Moto3™, Manuel Pagliani defends his position as leader after winning the inaugural race in Portugal ahead of Raúl Fernández (Angel Nieto Team) and Vicente Pérez (Reale Avintia Academy), who accompanied him on the podium after a thrilling race in which other aspiring riders suffered falls, such as Jeremy Alcoba (Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0.0), Ai Ogura (Asia Talent Team), Thomas Edward Booth-Amos (British Talent Team) and Sergio García (Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0.0), among others.

Jesko Raffin leads the Moto2™ category after winning the second race at Estoril and finishing third in the first, a race in which Ivo Lopes (ENI-Motor7- Pequeno Motos) came out the surprise winner by taking advantage of the tricky track conditions on his Superstock 600 bike. However, Augusto Fernández (Easyrace) is second in the overall standings, just one point behind Raffin after finishing second in the two races. Ivo Lopes is the leader of Superstock 600.

Almost as close is the classification of the ETC, led by Julián Giral (Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0.0) followed by Barry Baltus (Reale Avintia Academy) just four points behind. The two riders shared the victories in Portugal. Francisco Gómez (Larresport Bradol) is somewhat further adrift, on 26 points against the 45 of Julián Giral. The Larresport Bradol rider had mechanical problems in the first race but in the second he finished runner up.

The second round of the FIM CEV Repsol at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit will feature two races in each of the Moto3™ and ETC categories, with just one race in Moto2™. The European Kawasaki Z Cup returns to the scene with the first race of the season in Valencia.
