Jeremy Alcoba and Gabriel Rodrigo line up in the top ten for the Spanish GP

Roles have inverted in this scorching Saturday at Jerez de la Frontera, as in the second qualifying session of the season Jeremy Alcoba made the difference in the final lap available to claim the sixth-fastest time of Q2 – which was also his quickest lap of the weekend so far. The #52 rider will therefore line-up on the last spot of row two thanks to his so-far best qualifying result in the Moto3 World Championship.

A bit of disappointment for Gabriel Rodrigo, who after dominating in free practice and setting a new outright lap record for the class was unable to finish any higher than ninth. The Argentine rider, who will line up behind his teammate on the grid, has a great pace up his sleeve and he will no doubt be among the protagonists in what is the first European Grand Prix of the season.

In order to follow live the race performance of Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 the time to tune in will be at 11:00 local time (GMT+2), when the Spanish Grand Prix Moto3 class will get underway.

6th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 – 1’46.091

“It’s been a good qualifying but to be honest we have been doing pretty good throughout the whole weekend. I’m still a rookie in this class but this won’t be an excuse, and if things will be as smooth as they have been until now, we will have to do the utmost to take an extra step forward, which is always the goal. The bike was perfect today, even better than yesterday – and we hope we will surprise a lot of people tomorrow.”

9th – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 – 1’46.265

“I’m happy with today’s result, even though it’s obvious that the expectations were a bit higher after yesterday’s performance. The goal was still to be somewhere in the first three rows and we managed to do so. The really positive part is about the race pace that we set this morning, but then in qualifying we lost some grip due to the heat and without any slipstream it was hard. In any case, we’re ready for the first post-Covid race!”
