The Red Bull KTM Ajo team will be on the front row of the grid for the second Moto2 race of 2020, with Jorge Martin on pole at the Spanish GP. The Spaniard was the standout in a Q2 session that he dominated, on route to his first pole position in the intermediate class. Teammate Tetsuta Nagashima enjoyed a solid Saturday and will start from 8th position tomorrow.

In the 40-minute FP3, both riders improved their times from Friday. Jorge Martin was very competitive throughout the practice, placing second with a 1:41.197 – less than 1 tenth off the top spot. “I am very happy. Yesterday was a difficult day but today we managed to take a big step forward, and I felt comfortable both in the morning – riding in milder temperatures – and in the afternoon – when it was much hotter. We are ready and we have a good pace that makes us able to fight for victory tomorrow. I’m going to give one hundred percent to get a strong result at this race.”

45 TETSUTA NAGASHIMA
“Qualifying did not go quite as we had expected, but I am happy with today. In FP3 we worked with tomorrow’s race in mind, and we showed that we have a good pace. We still have to finish fine tuning some things that will allow us to qualify better but, even so, I am ready for tomorrow. I will do my best and we’ll see what happens.”
