Italian Luca Marini has increased his lead advantage after an intense race in which he starred in a beautiful fight with Sam Lowes, only solved on the penultimate lap. The two started from the front row of the grid and, although at first it seemed that Marini could escape, the Briton has caught him again and has even managed to take the lead of the race. However, at the beginning of the penultimate lap, the Italian has overtaken him at the end of the straight and has no longer given him any options. With them on the podium, third was Speed Up rider Fabio di Giannantonio, for the first time among the best since the 2019 San Marino Grand Prix. Enea Bastianini and Marco Bezzecchi, two of Marini’s greatest rivals in the standings, were sixth and seventh at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya.

Aron Canet and Inde Aspar Team have returned to the top 10 of the intermediate category in a difficult race for the Valencian. The Moto2 rookie started from nineteenth position on the grid, but in a few laps, he reached sixth position. However, since that moment, Inde Aspar Team rider has started to suffer from problems with his forearm that have prevented him from riding as he wanted. In spite of everything, Canet did not give up and finished the race at Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya in eight position. His teammate Hafizh Syahrin closed the Catalan Grand Prix in eighteenth position after a poor start, in which he lost several places. Syahrin continued to fight until the end of the race despite his problems with the bike’s traction at the exit of the corners. The next race for the Inde Aspar Team riders will be the weekend of October, 11 at the French Grand Prix.

Aron Canet:

“I am happy with the start of the race, but from the eighth lap I have had problems with my forearm and it was very difficult for me to accelerate and brake. I finished the race as best as I could, although it crossed my mind to enter the garage because it was being very difficult. However, I have not given up.”

Hafizh Syahrin:

“These are two races in a row in which we have bad feelings. We have to work hard to understand many things and to be able to keep improving. This eighteenth position is not the result we expected, I think we can fight for front positions, but we are not in the best shape right now. Here in Barcelona we had similar sensations to those of the second Misano race: I had no traction at the exit of the corners and it was difficult for me to keep up with the riders in front. Now that we have a week off we have to find a reason to try to solve it.”
