Weekend to forget in France for Pons and Bulega

 In Moto2, News

A week started on the wrong foot in which Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was unable to turn things around: today’s 19th place by Edgar Pons was cold comfort, while Nicolò Bulega was forced to retire from the race with ten laps to go, while he was riding in 22nd place.

The calendar is on the team and riders’ side as two more consecutive races lie ahead at MotorLand Aragon. This is a favourite track for the Spaniard, who already showed to be competitive on the home corners of Montmeló, while Bulega always finished in the points at the Teruel track in all the three years he raced there before.

EDGAR PONS:

“It has likely been the most complicated weekend so far. I really want to leave France behind and to get to a circuit I know like MotorLand, where I will be able to compete at the same level with my rivals. I would like to thank the team because despite the difficult times they are still able to be positive and very professional, and I’m sure things will change in the next races.”

NICOLÒ BULEGA:

“A really difficult weekend, from Friday to today. We struggled a lot and we need to reset as quick as possible and start on the right foot at Aragon in a few days’ time. There are no excuses, we must stay focused and work even harder: the next two races will be very important and we’ll have time to find the best set-up for the Kalex machine.”
