Three crashes have marked the Moto2 race at the Aragon Grand Prix. Luca Marini was the first of the favourite riders to crash, in the first laps, adding a new race without points and at that moment handing over the lead to his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi. Ahead, Fabio di Giannantonio was in the lead, in what was being his best weekend of the season, but the joy was short-lived and he went to the ground without being able to enjoy the lead. There was still a new twist in the script and, with two laps to go, Marco Bezzecchi, who led the race almost from the beginning, fell in the second corner, in the same place as Di Giannantonio, giving up the leadership of the race and of the category to Sam Lowes. The Briton has achieved his second consecutive victory in Aragon, but Enea Bastianini’s second position after overtaking Jorge Martín on the last lap leaves the Italian as the leader.

Kipin Energy Aspar Team has completed the Aragon Grand Prix with Hafizh Syahrin and Xavi Cardelús out of the points. After scoring at Le Mans, the Malaysian rider was nineteenth, in a weekend in which he was unable to find the necessary sensations to give his best on the Aragonese track. Syahrin started from the nineteenth position and has finished exactly nineteenth. His teammate in this race, Xavi Cardelús, has completed a consistent race in which he has fought with his group to finish twenty-fourth in the race. The Andorran rider, who replaces Aron Canet due to his injury on the little finger on his left hand, has adapted well to the Speed Up and, with his fastest lap, has finished two seconds off from the fastest lap of the race.

Hafizh Syahrin:

“It was a tough race for me. I was not able to complete a good start, but I managed to gain positions in the first corner. During the race I tried to improve myself, but we did not find the ideal set-up for the Speed Up. In each session we have tried to find something that would allow us to ride more comfortable, but we have not succeeded. I couldn’t keep the line well and we lost speed in the corners. It is not the result we wanted, we wanted to get into the points.”

Xavi Cardelús:

“I finish the weekend happy and with a good feeling. I started very well in the race and little by little I was picking up my pace and overtaking riders. There was a moment when it was very difficult for me, but I was able to refocus and ride a little faster. In the last laps, two riders passed me and, after hitting neutral, I went from being hooked to them, to being one second behind them and I have no longer been able to fight their position. I’ll stick with what I’ve done, I’m happy with the bike and with how the team has worked.”
