More points for Pons with 13th in Spain, Bulega 18th

The air of home clearly has a good influence on Edgar Pons who, for the second time in the season, was able to finish a race in the points. After a 14th place in Barcelona few weeks ago, today the Spanish rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini was thirteenth at the chequered flag at the end of the first of two racing weekends at the MotorLand Aragon circuit – which is his so-far best result in the series. These three points will likely bode well for the upcoming #AlcanizGP.

A Sunday and surely also a weekend to forget for Nicolò Bulega who was starting from way back on the grid (26th) and could not finish hither than 18th. A lot of work is required from the whole team ahead of the next round, which will get underway on Friday.

EDGAR PONS:

“A positive race, even though we could have passed both Luthi and Fernandez and get some more points. Unfortunately I was on the limit the whole race and I didn’t have enough front-tyre grip left to overtake them after bridging the gap. Overall it has been a good weekend, we worked well and have been consistent. We had the pace to be in the top ten and with a better qualifying session we could have managed to do so. We will try again next weekend.”

NICOLÒ BULEGA:

“It was hard to do any better after starting from so far back. We have done some miles, which is something we lacked throughout the weekend and we gathered some important data ahead of the next race here at MotorLand. We are all expecting more from ourselves and we want to do better from Friday.”
