The Red Bull KTM Tech3 pair of Ayumu Sasaki and Deniz Öncü managed to deliver a decent European GP today, finishing inside the points scoring positions, after a difficult Qualifying on Saturday made them facing a tough challenge in the hard-fought Moto3 class.

Sasaki started from P26, but made up several positions already on the opening lap to cover P15 after the first four kilometers of the race. He went on to fight inside a tough group throughout all the 23 laps, eventually crossing the line in 10th.

Ayumu Sasaki

“Today has been really difficult, as we started just from the ninth row. I made a good start, could avoid some action in the front, as the track conditions were not perfect. My only disappointment was the last lap, because I did a small mistake, which put me in P10, after we were fighting for P7. But we take the positives; we finished the race one more time inside the top 10 and are looking forward now to the second round here. We are closer to the front compared to Aragón one. I know where I have to improve and if I manage this, I know I can be close to the front. I just hope the weather will be a bit better for next week. Anyway, we take many positives away from his weekend.”
