After a truly demanding race decided right under the checkered flag, Marco Bezzecchi conquers the third step of the podium at the Valencia GP. Fifth for Luca Marini after a good recovery from the tenth position.

Starting from the third box on the grid, Marco took the lead in the first laps trying to impose his pace. In the battle during the whole race and second at the start of the last lap, he crossed the finishing line behind Martin and Garzo in third place.

In the slipstream of the very first guys also Luca who started from the fourth row of the grid. Thanks to a good start, he climbed the rankings to reach the top 5. With the points scored today, the Sky Racing Team VR46 is mathematically the World Champion among the teams in Moto2 (347 points). Title among the riders is still open: Luca confirms his third place (176 points) while Marco is fourth (171 points).

Marco Bezzecchi:

Compared to the last Sunday, with the wind, I really struggled. The bike was very nervous, I had little grip and I took risks on the last lap. A shame because halfway through the race we had a bit of advantage with Fabio (Di Giannantonio) and for a couple of aggressive overtakes we lost a lot of tenths compared to those behind us.

Luca Marini:

It was not an easy race, I had a good start, but in the first laps I lost the contact with the very first guys. The race pace was very similar for everyone and after a less than perfect qualifying it was not easy to recover. I wasted a lot of time with Marcel (Schrotter), he was really strong in braking and his bike on the straight was faster. A real shame because it was an opportunity to recover points on Enea (Bastianini) in the standings.
