Aron Canet is 15th in Portuguese GP and Moto2 Rookie of the Year, Syahrin 21st

Pull&Bear Aspar Team rider Aron Canet has finished his first season in the Moto2 category as the rookie of the year. Canet, who was fifteenth today in Portugal, secured by four points a title that he has led since he was eighth in Qatar. With today’s point, the Valencian ends the season in the final fourteenth position, just eight points from the top 10 after an eventful end of the year due to his arm pump surgery and the injury in the warm-up session of the French Grand Prix, which forced him to miss three races.

His teammate Hafizh Syahrin says goodbye to the Pull&Bear Aspar Team today with a twenty-first position in the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Malaysian rider has improved his feelings compared to yesterday, but it was not enough to be able to fight for the points in Portimao. The Pull&Bear Aspar Team rider also finished the World Championship twenty-first, with 21 points. The new Moto2 world champion is Italian Enea Bastianini, who has beaten Luca Marini, second, and Sam Lowes, third, by nine points.

“I am happy to finish the season as the rookie of the year, which was one of our goals for this year, although I am a bit discouraged after a little problem in the race. I had moved on the grid and they put me a penalty of two “long laps”. Next year we are going to set ourselves a higher goal.”

“It’s an emotional day, I’ve been working with some of my mechanics for several years and now we part ways. In the race we improved the sensations and the pace, but it was a bit late because we started from behind. I will be back stronger in 2021. At the beginning of the season we were fine, but after the crash in Austria and the loss of feeling in the last few races, the end of the year was tough.
