Aspar Team rider Aron Canet has achieved his second podium of the season in a spectacular race for him, in which he started from tenth and in which he was able to gradually recover places until he was second. The Valencian rider has accumulated 2.9 seconds of difference over his pursuers, but in the last laps his lower back has started to ache and his rivals have managed to cut the difference by almost two seconds. In spite of everything, Canet had enough eight tenths of advantage over Marco Bezzecchi to get a new second position, this time behind Remy Gardner.

For Albert Arenas, the German race was his first top 10 of the season in his debut in the intermediate category. The Aspar Team rider, who arrived at Sachsenring after his best result of the year when he finished twelfth in Barcelona, has had a great race, in which he has recovered up to ten positions with respect to his grid position. With these results, Aron Canet climbs to seventh overall, 30 points behind fourth, while Albert Arenas is in sixteenth place in the standings.

2nd Aron Canet (+6,158):
“I am very happy with how the race went; we went from less to more this weekend. Friday was difficult and yesterday we took a step forward. We weren’t expecting the podium, but we’ve never given up.”

8th Albert Arenas (+19,394):
“Today’s eighth position is my best result this season. It was a good race, after a difficult warm up, which has changed expectations a bit. Despite everything, we have not stopped believing. I have been catching riders in the race and little by little I was feeling comfortable and that has allowed me to do a few last laps like the first riders. The eighth position feels good to me, and from here, we will continue to improve. Today I want to congratulate my teammate for his result, we will fight to get there.”
