Isaac Vinales joins the Road Racing World Championship full-time for the first time in his career after learning his craft in the ultra-competitive CEV Buckler (Spanish) Championship.
The Spaniard started young on small two-stroke road racers before being accepted into the prestigious Red Bull MotoGP Academy in 2006. Injuries prevented him from racing in 2007, but his recovery was such that in 2008 he won the 125cc Pre-GP Evo Championship.
The next two years he finished fourth and sixth in the Spanish 125cc championships, while also entering a number of 125cc World Championship races in 2010. Vinales entered five races, three in his home country of Spain, and scored points in the Valencia season finale.
Last year he moved to the Spanish Moto2 series, winning in Valencia and finishing the season fifth overall.
His season with the debut Moto3 class will be aboard an Ongetta-Centra Seta-backed Honda NSF250R.
