Oliveira and Moncayo fired up for Spanish Grand Prix

 In News

The Jerez circuit is a talisman track for the riders of Team Andalucía – Banca Cívica – Diputación de Cádiz. Their careers started off here, at a circuit where they have achieved some of their greatest results.

Alberto Moncayo debuted last season in the 125cc world championship and in the second race of the season he achieved a result which showed that he wasn’t just another rookie in the category. After the 6th place finish at Jerez he had all eyes on him and he gradually fulfilled the expectations.
A year later, Alberto returns to the Circuit de Jerez with a lot of experience in the category and with great support from the sponsors, knowing that he’ll be able to achieve good results on his home track.

His teammate Miguel Oliveira faces his first season in the World Championship. The young Portuguese rider was runner-up in the 125cc Spanish Championship last year after a tough neck and neck battle with Maverick Viñales, winning four of the seven championship races, including both of the Jerez rounds.
Miguel has shaped his career in Spain and the layout of the Jerez circuit is one of his favorites.

Alberto Moncayo, # 23
“We are having some very nice few days before the Grand Prix and this gives me great strength to face the race with excitement. The Grand Prix starts tomorrow and we will continue as always with our way of working which has been giving us very good results. I am happy, highly motivated and, why not, I also hope we have a bit of luck.”

MIGUEL OLIVEIRA, # 44
“I hope to continue with the progress we’re making. During the IRTA test at Jerez we felt good and I am confident in the abilities of the team, so hopefully I can improve from the 10th position I achieved in Qatar. In any case, we’re working calmly and step by step, which is the best way to achieve the best results.”
