Oliveira returns to action with decent 8th place, ahead of teammate Moncayo

The Italian Grand Prix has been a success for the team led by Pedro Machado. Although the rain made an appearance at inopportune moments during the weekend, the team’s riders were able to do a good job all weekend and a great race in which both have finished in the top 10.

Miguel Oliveira returned to the world championship after two races out of action because of his fractured left arm. Miguel has gradually regained strength in his arm and managed to do a great race, finishing in 8th place.

Alberto Moncayo suffered setbacks yesterday in unfortunate weather conditions with rain upsetting things at the Mugello circuit a few minutes after starting the qualifying. For Alberto, who started from 16th position, it was all about getting a good start and recover positions and he did just that.

MIGUEL OLIVEIRA 8º: “I did a very bad start, but I managed to regain positions and I soon found myself in a group that passed me but with which I could fight. With three laps to go I launched my attack with the intention of running away to avoid being in front on the finish line and I was able to get enough of an advantage to achieve 8th position. The arm has not bothered me much, after three days on the bike it is regaining strength and with the careful approach during these days I was able to do a good race. Now I have to work so that the arm is 100% for the next race and to fight for the best possible result at the German GP.”

Alberto Moncayo 9º: “A good race. Although I’ve finished with a bigger gap to the front that I’d have liked I think we did a good job this weekend at Mugello and we are on our way. We’ve had too many races with a losing streak and I think we are now leaving this behind. We did a Grand Prix going from less to more, not being so lucky in the qualifying but we compensated this with a good race which I enjoyed and I think we’re on the right track. We worked hard, things have gone well and I’m sure there are still big races to come. I for one am very motivated and eager to go to the next Grand Prix.”
