Vazquez narrowly beaten by teammate but still happy with Indy result

The season’s 11th GP of the 125 cc class in Indianapolis did not exactly go as the Finnish Avant-AirAsia-Ajo team had planned, despite the fact that two of their riders finished top ten.

Johann Zarco had a tough battle for fifth place with his Spanish teammate Efren Vazquez and managed to cross the finish line just 14 thousandth of a second ahead of Vazquez. But Vazquez wasn’t that sorry after losing out narrowly to his teammate: “In the beginning of the race I was a bit too careful, but the result was fairly good.”

“It really wasn’t a team order”, team boss Aki Ajo affirmed. “We didn´t really have big problems but on the other hand it wasn’t the best day either. The tyres started to go for all the riders.”
