Since opening its doors in 1990, Albacete circuit has been one of the most popular circuits for motorcycle racing, hosting many international championships, including the CEV Buckler ever since its launch.

The challenging La Mancha track is the shortest of all that the CEV visits at only 3,539.31 metres in length. The somewhat unusual shape of the circuit is made up of 13 corners in total (8 right corners and 5 left corners) and combines fast and slow sectors.

During some seasons, the CEV Buckler started in Albacete, however, for last seasons, even in 2012, Albacete has hosted the races held in the second half of the calendar. This is the reason why some riders have been announced as champions on La Mancha soil. This could be the case this weekend in the Stock Extreme category for Carmelo Morales, who leads the championship. Nevertheless, Morales may have competition from Kyle Smith, Xavi Forés, Santiago Barragán and Javier Del Amor, who are still in the fight for victory.

The Moto2 competition on the other hand is more open, with Jordi Torres as the current leader, closely followed by American Kenny Noyes and Román Ramos, who will be trying for his first victory of the season. The fifth round of the 2012 championship will see the return of Dani Rivas after his injury and Ángel Rodríguez, who will compete in the CEV Buckler after his stint in the Moto2TM World Championship.

Of all the categories, Moto3 seems to be the most unpredictable. So far in the competition, there has been a different race winner at all four rounds, meaning that there is a range of hopeful champions in this tough competition. Provisional leader, Álex Márquez, will try to increase the difference in points between him and his main rivals for the title: Luca Amato, Francesco Bagnaia, Phillip Öttl and Marcos Ramírez.
