Simón feeling strong and looking for top five result at Misano

 In Moto2, News

Once again the grid position for Julián Simón does not reflect the good work he did during today’s qualifying at Misano. The rider from Villacañas rode very consistent and was in the top ten for most of the session. Simón rode on his own, with a good pace and feeling good on the bike. While he’s of course always looking for the best position on the grid, Julián is still very motivated and confident ahead of tomorrow’s race, not caring too much about not being in the first two rows. In such a complicated category like Moto2 it’s always difficult to make a prediction, but the Blusens Avintia rider feels good and will try to finish in the top five.

60 Julián Simón (12º, 1’38.919 +0.677): “”I’m really happy with the work we did today in the qualifying. I know the position is not perfect and that we start a little behind of where we would like to be, but I did many laps with a good pace, comfortably and without any reference points. I was around the top ten all the time and the bike made me feel very confident. I will be in the fourth row and I think with a good start we can be in the top five which, in principle, is the goal. I think we will have fun tomorrow, because I feel strong with the bike and I hope to do very well.”
