Julián Simón finishes 17th in a session complicated by the rain

 In Moto2, News

Julian Simon, rider of the Blusens Avintia team has not had an easy Saturday. The intermittent rain during the qualifying session made it difficult to work on the setup of the bike and to get a good result. The changing track conditions didn’t help with the work nor with finding the confidence necessary for fighting for a good grid position.

Simón faced a difficult track and a bike on which he never felt confident during qualifying, despite his mechanics working tirelessly to find improvements. Tomorrow he will start from quite far back, but nevertheless Julián Simón hopes to be much more competitive during the race.

Julián Simón “
The intermittent rain made the session rather difficult and hindered us to find the right setup. We’ve got problems with the potholes on track because the bike doesn’t balance these irregularities out as much as I would want to. My mechanics and the technical team are working hard on finding a setup for the bike that suits me, but unfortunately, at the moment, we’ve not achieved this yet. Tomorrow I will start from row 6 of the grid which is quite far back, but I’m hoping for a good start. Here in Phillip Island you usually race in large groups, but if I get a good start and make use of those groups, I should be able to try and finish in the Top 10.
