Marquez takes to new bike – but not on track

 In MotoGP, News

The temperamental weather which affected last week’s Grand Prix in Valencia, has once again disrupted proceedings in the first day of testing in Valencia.

There was a lot of anticipation for the first day of testing for the 2013 season, as the Repsol Honda Team welcome their new rider, Moto2 champion, Marc Marquez. However, with rain arriving in the morning, neither Marc or Dani Pedrosa took to the track.

The press were kept happy nonetheless with Marc being presented on the bike in the Repsol Honda Team garage.

Weather permitting, testing will continue at the Ricardo Tormo circuit tomorrow.

DANI PEDROSA
“Unfortunately the weather has been pretty bad all weekend and continued today. Let’s hope it will brighten up tomorrow and at least stay dry so that we can test the new 2013 prototype machine”.

MARC MÁRQUEZ
“I have this fantastic bike here but unfortunately the weather isn’t very good! It’s better to be patient and wait as it’s important to test the bike in the best conditions possible. I spent some time with the team this morning and I learnt many things but I still have a lot to learn. I know the power will be very different and also the electronic controls, also the carbon brakes and tyres will be something I need to adapt to, but step by step we will learn. I’m really excited to get started but we we agree that it’s best to test the bike in the dry for the first time, I just hope the weather will improve tomorrow!”.
