Moncayo still looking for solutions to fight front end chatter

Moncayo Jerez TestThe weather conditions at Jerez turned for the better on the third day of testing, so the riders returned to pick up the rest of their setup work at the Spanish track.

Pol Espargaró continues to be the man to beat, posting the best laptime of the test so far with a lap of 1.42’636s. Argiñano-Ginés Racing riders Steven Odendaal and Alberto Moncayo are still over 2.5 seconds behind that best time and having still a lot of catching up to do. The fastest Speed Up rider today was Australian Anthony West with a laptime of 1.44’052.

In the Spanish team things are progressing at their own pace as Alberto Moncayo is still looking for a better feeling on the Speed Up machine. Tomorrow the final day of testing and the 2013 preseason beckons, with the weather forecast predicting temperatures of over 20° Celcius and no rain.

#17 Alberto Moncayo (31º, 1.46.617, 69 laps):
“In the morning I felt stronger and I could push to find the limits quicker. The Speed Up was better today after a change of forks. At noon I improved my laptime by half a second which is not enough, but it’s positive that after lunch I could ride in the mid 1’46s. I was pretty happy, but then the chattering at the front returned which ate away at the tyres. Tomorrow we’ll try to take another route to solve the problems and improve my feeling on the bike.”
