Mixed feelings for Oliveira after weather-affected practice sessions at Qatar

Miguel Practice QatarThe Portuguese youngster had a complicated FP3 this evening at the Losail International Circuit, where the first round of the 2013 MotoGP World Championship will take place this Sunday. Miguel Oliveira wasn’t able to improve his time from yesterday. Even so, the Mahindra Racing rider ensured the same combined position as yesterday.

Oliveira found solutions for the problems he had, but just like for everyone else the sand swept on to the track and the rain during the last moments were a setback. In fact, from the 32 riders only two managed to improve their times while all others rode one to two seconds slower than in FP2, the fastest of the three free practices.

Miguel Oliveira: “I am not satisfied with today’s practice, because I wasn’t able to match or improve my laptime from yesterday. On the other hand I am happy, because we were able to solve the technical problems we had.
The track was very dusty today and at the end of the practice when I set out for a fast lap it started to rain. Dust, wind and rain affected my confidence level, that’s why I am not happy with this practice. Anyway, I have to thank my sponsors for the trust they have in me.”
