Today was not a good day for Avintia Blusens rider Héctor Barberá at Le Mans.

Barbará, who was very fast and amongst the best in the CRT category during the first free practice sessions, suffered a crash in the third session in which he broke a finger. Despite not being fully fit during qualifying and not feeling good on the bike at any point, he still managed to be the 3rd best CRT rider. Tomorrow, Héctor will start from row 5 on the grid and hopes to have a good race despite his injury.

#8 Héctor Barberá
The crash was a shame because in all the previous sessions we had been riding well with a good pace and the bike feeling good. I’ve got a small fracture in my finger, and even though it doesn’t stop me from riding, it surely hinders me a bit. During qualifying the bike went well, but I didn’t feel confident enough to push to the limit. Despite this, I could improve bit by bit, and by the end of the session I had regained enough confidence to finish as the 3rd best CRT rider. If the hand doesn’t cause me too much pain tomorrow, we can have a good race because the pace we have is good. It looks like it’ll rain tomorrow, so we have to make good use of the warm up session to improve the wet set up. I’d like to thank the team for their hard work and all the effort they put into having the bike ready for the last session, and to Dr Costa who helped me to go into qualifying in the best condition possible.
