After winning in Jerez and in Le Mans, Maverick Viñales arrives in Mugello as the leader of the Moto3 world championship.

The Team Calvo rider already knows what it means to win at this Italian circuit, which is embedded in the Tuscany valleys, and he wants to repeat a win on his KTM. Mugello is a very fast circuit which suits Maverick well but he is fully aware that the season is long and that he needs to continue to collect valuable points.

Ana Carrasco, Maverick’s young team mate in Team Calvo, faces yet another completely new circuit. But as she’s already demonstrated in the previous 4 rounds, this is no problem for her and she’s got her eyes fixed on her goal, to be the first woman in the Moto3 world championship to ride into the points.

I’m very happy with the bike and most importantly with the team, and therefore I arrive in Mugello very motivated and I can’t wait to get on the bike. It’s a circuit that I like a lot, and apart from that it’s just a lot of fun to ride here because the Italian fans are very good and there’s always a great atmosphere. I arrive here as the current leader of the championship, but there are many races to go still. We started the season well, but these next four races we have to be consistent, try to get the maximum points and just give our best.

I’m already looking forward to get back on the bike, also because Mugello is one of the best circuits in the championship. From what I’ve been told, it’s very fast and wide, and that’s why I hope it’ll be better for me than Le Mans. We already had four races, and the aim for this weekend will be to get into the points. The bike goes really well but we’ll have to improve a bit for Saturday’s qualifying, because it’s not easy to be fighting for points when you start from further back.

We’re in Italy, for a very special GP and at one of the best circuits of this championship. We arrive here very motivated and with a lot of enthusiasm after the two recent wins by Maverick. We got to continue working with Maverick in the same way, but it looks like it’s definitely going very well for us. Ana’s progression in the past two races has been very good, and even though Mugello is difficult, I believe it’ll suit her riding style and she won’t have trouble adapting.
