After tackling the tight and twisty demands of the Sachsenring circuit just a couple of days ago the MotoGP riders are already on their way to the USA to take on the shortest circuit on the whole calendar.

Laguna Seca is a 3.671km rollercoaster of breathtaking elevation changes and blind corners such as the world-famous Corkscrew – a fast downhill chicane. It is the only round of the season that is exclusive to the MotoGP class, with Marc Márquez now back on top of the championship after his victory in Germany combined with the absence of both Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa. Lorenzo has announced that he will not ride at Laguna Seca whilst Pedrosa remains a doubt, potentially giving Márquez the opportunity to extend his lead even further.

The POWER ELECTRONICS Aspar Team is already en route to Laguna Seca, where they hope to round out the first half of the season with a good result. Aleix Espargaró remains unstoppable as the man to beat in CRT and in Germany he enjoyed his best weekend yet, qualifying fifth and fighting for the podium positions in the early stages before dropping back to eighth. The Spaniard is now tenth overall in the MotoGP standings and the standout leader of the CRT pack after winning every round so far.

Aleix Espargaró:
“Even though it is a short track Laguna Seca is spectacular. We have hardly had time to catch our breath since leaving Germany before heading to America but it is the last race before the holidays and that gives us extra motivation. I had a lot of fun riding the ART at Laguna Seca last year even though we had some problems with the electronics but I am sure everything will go to plan this time. I love racing at Laguna Seca, the Corckscrew is just a spectacular corner that gives you goosebumps when you watch from the side of the track. I like it because it is different to any other circuit in the world and our confidence is high going to California, where we hope to have an enjoyable weekend. Hopefully we can have a repeat of an excellent weekend at Sachsenring.”
