_2GG1808_640x480Alvaro Bautista enjoyed another fantastic battle with Valentino Rossi today, this time conceding fourth place to the Italian on the final lap of the British Grand Prix by just 0.065 seconds at the line. Another top five finish continues a positive recent run of form for the Team GO & FUN Honda Gresini rider, whose relationship with the Honda RC213V has grown stronger over the last four races and promises much more as the season enters its final third.

Alvaro Bautista (5th) “Unfortunately once again I have had to concede to Valentino but we had a lot of fun out there. The last lap was really nice because we overtook each other several times but unfortunately I couldn’t make it stick and he beat me by just 0.065 seconds! That’s a shame but I am happy anyway because I have improved my feeling with the bike again here, we were able to make up a lot of ground at the start of the race and confirm our recent good form again. We just need to take another little step to be even more competitive but it is coming. Hopefully we can have another nice race in the next Grand Prix at Misano, the team’s home race.”

Fausto Gresini “What can I say? That was a great race, really fun to watch. It was just a shame about the result because again we have narrowly missed out on fourth place by just 0.065 seconds. Alvaro showed a lot of heart to keep fighting with Valentino until the end. It is nice to be up there fighting at the front of a Grand Prix. Now we need to take another step forward to be even more competitive. Over the last four races we have been able to demonstrate all the hard work that has been done this year by the team, Showa and Nissin. If we can keep going like this we can have a lot of fun!”
