The Albacete circuit today hosted the qualifying rounds of the CEV Repsol. With the weather mostly fair, over a hundred riders took to the track in search of the best positions on the grid tomorrow.

With the large number of entries in Moto3™ the younger riders had to be split into two groups. Rain around midday together with a light wind kept riders from improving their first session times. Andrea Migno (ITA-FTR) will start from pole position, giving him a fresh chance at the podium – in the last CEV Repsol event (also at Albacete) he fell while leading the race. He will be joined on the first row of the grid by Bryan Schouten (NED-FTR), and Jorge Navarro (SPA-MIR Racing).

The first session of the morning in Moto2™ was also the most fruitful for Román Ramos (SPA-Ariane), Alex Mariñelarena (SPA-Suter) and Russell Gómez (SPA-AJR), all three posting their best times of the day. The riders will occupy the first row of the grid, with only a few thousandths of a second separating them. Grand Prix rider Kyle Smith (GBR-Kalex), who recently joined the championship, grabbed a useful fifth place. Alejandro Esteban (SPA-Kawasaki) was the quickest Superstock 600 rider.

Once again, the star of Stock Extreme was Xavier Forés, who seems to be going from strength to strength after a difficult time with his former team. Carmelo Morales (SPA-Kawasaki) and Iván Silva (SPA-BMW Motorrad) -now fully recovered from his shoulder injury- complete the front row yet again. The best rider of the Spanish Stock Extreme Cup for privateers was Raul Martínez (SPA-Kawasaki).

The Moto3, Moto2 and Stock Extreme will be shown live on Energy TV or online at www.mitele.es
