The MotoGP World Championship returns to Spain for the third time this season this weekend as round fourteen takes place at the Motorland circuit in Aragon, a fantastic facility that resembles a theme park for motorsport enthusiasts.

Its 5.078km layout is riddled with blind corners, elevation changes, fast switches in direction and two eternally long straights that put the riders and their machines to the ultimate test. After two straight victories Jorge Lorenzo arrives at his home race as the man in form but still with a 34 point deficit to series leader Marc Marquez, with Dani Pedrosa also still in title contention on the same points as Lorenzo and equally hopeful of home success in front of the Spanish crowd.

As well as the Spanish trio at the top of the championship Aleix Espargaro is chasing a home victory of his own this weekend. The POWER ELECTRONICS Aspar rider has been the standout rider in the CRT category this season by some margin and after ‘victories’ at Jerez and Catalunya already this season he is chasing a special hat-trick on Sunday.

Aleix Espargaró:
“This weekend will be special for us, as it always is when we race at home. The two Spanish rounds so far went well for us but at Motorland it will be more difficult to close the gap to the factory prototypes because it is a different kind of circuit. The two long straights will make it hard for us but hopefully the support of the Spanish crowd can give us an extra push. I made a little mistake in the last race at Misano so at Motorland I will be looking to get back to being the top CRT. Motorland is a fun circuit with some blind corners in the first two sections. The last corner is also great fun and in general it is a very complete track.”
