Alvaro Bautista confirmed his excellent recent form with another top five finish in the Malaysian Grand Prix, where only a small brake problem denied him the possibility of an even better result.

The Team GO & FUN Honda Gresini rider has now been in the top five at six of the last eight races, showing the great job being done by him, the team, Showa and Nissin.

Alvaro Bautista (5th)
“I made a good start and that allowed me to get away with the front group for a few laps but then I had a moment when I couldn’t get the front brake lever fully on and I ran wide. It took me a couple of laps to get confident with the brakes again and I lost touch. Maybe in the battle with Valentino I overheated the brakes. It was a shame but I fought my way back to Crutchlow and then gritted my teeth to beat him in a fight to the end. Another important top five finish for me, the team, who have done a great job again, and the sponsors.”

Fausto Gresini
“Alvaro produced another excellent and exciting performance. Fifth place was well deserved today and it took a lot of determination after a front brake problem cost him time early in the race. It is not to the discredit of Nissin though because they are doing a great job for us. The result today confirms the great form we are in and I am sure there are many more to come.”
