It is a sign of just how much Moto3 has advanced in just a year and how competitive the class is that the first 18 on the grid are split by less than a second.

For Ana Carrasco that is just the problem: she is faster than last year, but the others are even faster. Carrasco qualified in 33rd.

Under imminent clouds and a constant threat of rain the Moto3 qualifying session was pretty tense. The rain held off, except for a few drops halfway through the session. At the time it was a gamble what would happen and all riders were waiting to see if the rain would continue or not.

As soon as it seemed to stop both Ana and teammate Scott Deroue were sent out again by RW Racing GP team manager Jarno Janssen.

Ana Carrasco – 33 (1.45,077)
“It is difficult to put a finger on the problem. In the first practice everything was looking great and I was faster than I was in qualifying last year. But from then on it seemed to simply stall. I just couldn’t get that much faster as the others. I’m too far from where I want to be. I’m trying everything I can but I don’t know how to go faster. I’m really disappointed, for myself and for my team.”
