The Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team has completed a perfect weekend at the Spanish GP with an incredible race in which Izan Guevara and Sergio García have been the strongest riders. The last corner of the Jerez – Ángel Nieto circuit always offers a final overtaking that changes the direction of the race and this time it has done so in favour of Izan Guevara who, overtaking from the outside, has taken his second victory in the World Championship, the first of this season.

It was also a great day for Sergio García, not just because of the podium, his fourth of the season, but also in terms of the championship, because of Dennis Foggia’s eighteenth position, which allowed him to increase his lead at the top of the standings to 21 points. With these results, GASGAS increases its lead in the constructors’ classification and the Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team does the same in the teams’ standings.

WINNER Izan Guevara:
“Winning in Jerez, with all the fans in the stands, is very special. The final overtaking, on the outside, at the Jorge Lorenzo corner, was incredible. What we deserved has already arrived, it’s time to continue fighting for more. I’m very happy with these three days in Jerez. I felt very good with the bike and with the team. We came from races where we were strong, but a good result eluded us. I tried to push from the start, but other riders with a worse pace hindered us and the group has come back together”.

2nd Sergio García (+0.061):
“It was a very crazy race in Jerez. My teammate and I tried to get away, but it was difficult. Other riders came and slowed down the race. I’m happy, we’re doing a good job and it is a very important podium. We will continue working at Le Mans to match or improve today’s result”.
